Part Two · Chapter 8

The digital dojo

Adopting karate's tenets into his cyber life, Brud began to perceive the digital realm differently. Just as he had trained to anticipate his opponent's moves in the dojo, he now anticipated the moves of cyber adversaries.

Building on his martial arts training, he cultivated an instinctive understanding of digital threats. He began to see patterns and rhythms in the seemingly chaotic streams of binary — as one might see the ebb and flow of an opponent's attack and defence.

This cyber-karate, as he dubbed it, changed his life. The lessons of discipline, balance, and harmony learned on the mat were now reflected in his work. He became a formidable presence in the cyber world — adept at identifying vulnerabilities, fending off attacks, and striking back when necessary.

His martial discipline brought a unique edge to his computer-science expertise. Shoothis became known for his signature style — a blend of rigorous scientific method and intuitive martial tactics. The digital dojo had truly transformed him into a cyber warrior.
